A group of veterans and volunteers dressed in hunting gear stand together for a group photo inside a garage with hunting gear, vehicle memorabilia, and a Freedom Hunters sign on the wall behind them.

Two smiling veteran kneel beside a harvested buck while holding antlers, surrounded by fellow veterans and John W. Warner IV holding a Freedom Hunters banner. The group stands outside a lodge with colorful fall leaves on the ground.

Since 2015, John and his wife have proudly hosted fall black powder deer hunts through The Virginia Wildlife Foundation and with support from Jenny West. This annual Wounded Veteran Deer Hunt brings warriors together for fellowship, connection, and great food. Home-cooked meals, including Steve’s legendary venison chili, make every hunt unforgettable. Deep gratitude to all who have served.
